Team Leader for Shipping and Receiving
2nd Shift

The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that assigned work cells are set up according to the proper Manufacturing Cadence requirements, and that the Operators in those cells, are certified (or supervised until certified), following all relevant work instructions, Quality Checks, routine preventative maintenance activities, and all other relevant policies and practices.
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices, and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition and meets or exceeds OSHA Standards. 
  • Comply with all QMS / EMS procedures and work instructions as it pertains to the position description.
  1. Conducts Operator Certification training and monitors the development of the employees in their assigned work cell(s). 
  2. Responsible for the performance of assigned work cell(s) in accordance with the Manufacturing Cadence. 
  3. Responsible for ensuring that production support groups are present and addressing work cell issues in a timely manner.
  4. Rotates operators as needed on all assigned lines so that Standard Work for the appropriate manning at the cell is followed.
  5. Responsible for the maintenance of Kiosk Boards in accordance with the Manufacturing Cadence. 
  6. Facilitate daily shift start-up meeting.
  7. Performs weekly Preventive Maintenance (update Facility Dude and PM Book) and issue Maintenance Requests for Safety/Equipment Issues as appropriate.  Supports the work cell team with simple repairs and adjustments.
  8. Verification of Operator Shift Start-up Sheets and First Piece Checks, approval of Green Tags and updates data books with shift to shift communications.
  9. Performs Part Inspection and Gaging checks for all assigned work cells.
  10. Collect & Log SPC Data and Process Adjustments.
  11. Review Scrap, Supplier and Rework Racks throughout the shift and use of the Escalation Process as appropriate.
  12. Performs daily LPA to ensure all cells are complete by the end of each work week.
  13. Performs routine 5S Audits and implements corrective actions on identified issues.
  14. Addresses Fixture Validation Issues (reset and log).
  15. Follows quality checks outlined in Process Control Plan.
  16. Alerts the Production Supervisor of incidents requiring safety or quality Stand-Downs.  Will participate in Stand-Downs as directed. 
  17. Performs all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within JAC Products, Inc.
  1. Responsible for ensuring Dock Material Handlers are following safety protocols (etc key take, glad hand locks, chock)
  2. Responsible for on-time customer shipments
  3. Perform auditing on  labels and scan process
  4. Responsible for communicating to customer service rep any late or short shipments
  5. Responsible for sending ASN’s, blend sheet to Ford and any other customer specific communication required
  6. Communicate any late or short ships on inbound supplier trucks 
  7. Back up for dock material handlers

  • Ability to frequently walk or stand for long periods of time.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling and high temperatures.
  • While performing the job functions of this position, the employee frequently works near powered motor vehicles, power tools, and automated assembly fixtures.
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a production environment with demonstrated leadership responsibilities. 
  • Successful demonstration of product assembly, safety and quality systems/policies understanding typically developed over several years in a production environment – preferably in a Tier 1 or 2 automotive parts manufacturing environment.   EOE
