Shift Supervisor - Automotive Production
Shift Supervisor Job Description:
- Report
directly to Plant Manager.
- Responsible
for one of four shifts in a 24/7 production environment
- PM
Shift 5:30PM-5:30AM; Approx. 45-55 hours per week
- Take
initiative to 1) increase production throughput in each department; 2)
reduce scrap, waste, and downtown; and 3) improve employee safety,
ergonomics, and team morale.
- Review
each production process for opportunities for improvement.
- Remain
knowledgeable of current production priorities through participation in
regular communication (meetings, conference calls, training sessions,
email, etc.).
- Enforce
safety policies and procedures across all departments.
- Ensure
all resources and assets are used correctly and efficiently.
- Ensure
all work instructions on the production floor are up to date and readily
available.
- Maintain
a productive, customer-focused, fair, and safe work environment for all
employees.
- Work
with Human Resources to execute employee onboarding, orientation, training,
corrective action, discipline, and terminations efficiently.
- Work
with Human Resources to create and maintain a training schedule for each
department based on current needs.
- Ensure
only authorized team members are operating each piece of equipment at all
times.
- Anticipate
and escalate material, quality, production, and manpower issues.
- Report
shift production, scrap, downtime and other required metrics to
management.
- Participate
in Safety Committee meetings, as required.
- Participate
in all training, as required.
- Other
duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 4 years in an
manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license
- 3 years of
leadership/supervision experience
- Comfortable using MS
Office, email, and text.
- Neat, clean,
professional appearance is a must.
- Strong verbal and
written communication skills are a must.
- Must be able to present
well on conference calls, and in meetings, communicating daily production
metrics
- Must demonstrate
proactive problem solving, sound judgement, and strong managerial skills.
- Some college strongly
preferred.
