GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Quality Technician will assist with activities related to quality assurance. The business environment is that of light assembly and distribution. This role will support the organization with the mission of being a world class engineered components solution provider. The quality team ensures processes deliver customer satisfaction and exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audit incoming and outgoing material
- Perform First Article Inspections
- Develop work instructions for various quality activities
- Assist with generation of PPAP documentation and related requirements
- Assist with internal quality audits per documented procedures
- Support and assist with ISO/TS 16949 audits, system updates as needed
- Select appropriate metrological methods for capability studies and ensure Gage R&R standards are met
- Review suspect returned goods to determine disposition
- Work with warehouse operations to quarantine and disposition suspect inventory
Required Education:
- Associates degree in related discipline
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred
Required Length & Type of Experience:
- Two to five years’ experience as a quality technician
- Experience with standard metrology devices; micrometers, calipers, gage pins & blocks, spring testers, and coordinate measuring machines
- High proficiency in MS Excel and Word
- Basic understanding of statistical techniques as they apply to manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of ISO/TS 16949 Standards and Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff- Solid understanding of drawings and specifications to interpret inspection criteria
